Photos: CHARGED GBH April 2, 1984 and ASEXUALS, '84, Cargo, Montreal,

Cargo was the first club where in '83 I witnessed a full-on moshpit. I remember standing near the stage as usual, waiting for a band to go on, when I was warned by someone to move to the side. Why, I asked- then found out as I was swept into the vortex of a sea of thrashing and flailing young males. I eventually started venturing into the pit as an exercise of endurance and will. And communion. It is always a challenge photographing this, and a total rush.

Colin (Col) Abrahall- lead vocals. The guy from the audience with the Mohawk is Rob Porter, who became the guitar player in GENETIC CONTROL. (Thanks to Zabo of GENETIC CONTROL for the info!)
BTW, GENETIC CONTROL is playing several reunion dates in Montreal this July, 2005- including Foufounes on the 4th and Verdun Auditorium on the 8th!

Dutchy's was the place to go in Montreal for records, concert tickets, t-shirts and cool paraphernalia such as sperm stud earrings! My friend Tomas used to work on the second floor. Wonder where he is now... Tomas posed for my Three Part Bodyseries and as my second subject, set the tone!

MORE GBH photos - 2 pages- from the Cargo gig are on my Indyfoto site.
